Spacebot MUBOT Morpx

Add to Wishlist

MUBot is an AI enabled wooden robot building kit designed by Morpx.

Children work as interns with MU Inc to design, assemble, and program the new SpaceBot robots. When complete, they’ll be rewarded with the incredibly satisfying experience of watching the robot come to life, greeting them and tracking their movement! All with the help of the AI-enabled wooden building kit from Morpx.

SpaceBot certainly looks fantastic, standing 14 centimetres tall and made from plywood and colourful stickers. It ships from China as a kit complete with circuit board, two servos, camera, speaker, wiring and battery pack.

By building the robot, children can:

  1. Read and follow the instruction manual
  2. Build the essential components of an AI robot
  3. Learn robot programming from scratch

For Children 8 years and older. Approximate build time: 1 – 2 hrs.

BUILD A ROBOT FROM SCRATCH

Children learn best by playing hands-on. Starting from some basic components, such as wood pieces and servo motors, the SpaceBot kit lets them create an AI-powered robot entirely from scratch. It is during this process that they learn the inter-disciplinary knowledge from mechanics, electronics, programming and artificial intelligence.

THREE PLAYING MODES OF SPACEBOT

The award-winning MU SpaceBot is the first to include Computer Vision and AI in a construction kit. The assembled SpaceBot can work in three modes:

Greeting mode: the SpaceBot will greet and interact with any person it sees.
Music Mode: play cool music by a finger on a piece of paper with vision-keyboard technology.
Programming Mode: Children can program the robot using their familiar scratch-compatible interface in the MU Bot app (available in Google Play / iOS App Store) and you can program on your computer. A series of free self-following lessons help your children venture into robot programming step by step. The App can also be used to record custom greeting voices for the SpaceBot.
